A New Season for The 180 Center

Happy Fall Everyone! We had a blessed summer at The 180 Center, but we’ve entered a new season, and we are excited about what lies ahead. First, let us update you on some of the things that happened this summer….

We celebrated three water baptisms, a team from Genesis Church in Long Island came by ferry for the day and framed some rooms as part of Phase Two, we participated in an outreach to New Haven with Bridges of Hope, and we applied for the opportunity to be a Warming Center this fall/winter and were accepted!

We were so blessed to have a team sent from Genesis Church on Long Island to work on the framing of rooms in the back half of our building. We have had to exercise so much patience in the completion of our dream for the new building because of lack of reliable labor, but we are so grateful for faithful servant hearted laborers that
God blesses us with at different times. Thank you, Genesis Church, for your commitment. Also, we are so grateful to the many churches that give financially to The 180 Center.

We have received the permit needed to begin Phase 2, but we are wisely waiting on the finances to move forward. God blessed us with this building three years ago for only $1.00! We have desired to be wise stewards; with all the work that has been done, we have not accrued any debt. Praise God! So we wait and pray, trusting His timing for the provision to complete Phase Two. Please pray for the Lord to bring the finances and laborers.

We loved serving with Bridges of Hope this summer; it’s great for the men in our ministry to see the Body
of Christ in New Haven in action! We have another outreach planned on Saturday, October 8th. The 180 Center will be hosting Community Care Day in our
new building parking lot! We will be giving free haircuts to the homeless, clothes, care packages, plus we will have the barbecue going for hot dog lunch
that day. We are looking forward to this outreach because we have done it in the past and witnessed the blessing it is to so many.

In addition, we are also excited about serving as one of New Haven’s Warming Centers this fall and winter. We will be open overnight from 7pm-7am to provide shelter for the homeless during cold weather. Please cover this opportunity to serve our city with much prayer!!
